Giddyap!

I typically don't flex, but....

On the outskirts of Deadwind Pass.

Cardwyn reached the end the long grind to Exalted for the Wintersaber Trainers yesterday.

Once she reached L66 --the reason for showing my UI instead of hiding it as usual-- the XP she obtained from the mobs for the Wintersaber Rep quests slowed to a trickle. With about 5k worth of reputation to go, there was no longer any reason to artificially slow down my rep grind. And to be fair, another guildie had started in on the rep grind with her own traditional single mindedness, and had about 9200 Rep to go last morning. Therefore, I decided to push it and finish Card's own grind around my lunchtime.

Card's trustly old Alterac Ram has finally been put to pasture.

Oh, and I can report that with T3 gear, Cardwyn can hold her own as L66 against mobs that are L69 - L70 outside of Karazhan. She just happens to pull them from a pretty far distance, that's all. And that each kill nets her ~1340 XP.

Redbeard has a new grinding zone.

EtA: Corrected from XP to Rep. Oops.

  1. That mount started me down the mount madness slope. First there was that, then there were the Nether dragons in Outland, and then it just ... blew up. I don't have, like ALL the mounts, but I will definitely go out of my way for a unique mount or tame.

    1. Oof. Yeah, I can see that happening.

I thought seriously about whether I wanted a Nether dragon mount, but when everybody --and I do mean just about everybody-- started grinding dailies down there for that mount, I took a hard pass. I'd already done that back in late Wrath, so I wasn't interested in trying to do that again. And besides, I'm rather proud of the fact that I resisted the obvious temptation to run dailies and finish entire zones of quests just to get enough gold for a fast mount. I mean, the raid was still going to happen whether I got a fast flying mount or not, and I would just use a fast ground mount if I needed to get around. It suited me well enough for farming anyway.

    2. Wrath was when I got mine, and it was more or less BECAUSE they expanded the number of mounts you could get and offered another one for getting x number of them that I focused down on that one. RNG was not my friend (I STILL haven't gotten the Time-Lost Protodrake) so I rather had to focus on things that were grind-like.

Nothing qualifies as grind like that grind.

  2. Grats on the kitty-cat! I found these to be more common in Classic than I would've expected, but it's still an achievement.

    1. Yeah, the unlimited nature of the repeat quests can attract a certain achievement driven person. But boy can it get old real fast if you're not one of that type.

      Thanks for the congrats!

  3. Congratulations on a goal accomplished! And what a lovely reward, too! That's one of my favorites of the tiger mounts.

    1. I love the look of the tiger mounts, but honestly this one surprised me. I never saw people riding them around in Classic very much, despite the number of people who were trying the grind, but the almost purple look to them really makes them stand out.
