Huh, you made me look up whether that game still exists and apparently it does. No women on the homepage at all though. Wonder how that evolution came about...
ReplyDeleteI guess it was made fun of for so long that the marketing people realized they were likely losing business by just going full on breasts and fanservice. Or maybe somebody sued due to misleading advertising...
DeleteOh, just found what we're looking for: apparently Evony sued someone for libel in Australia in 2009/2010 and the lawsuit was dropped after only a few days' worth of hearings. (Likely because they suddenly realized they were going to lose.) But as a result, Evony also pledged in 2010 to clean up their ads and make them more "accurate". Heh.
