  1. How come no one ever blames the fact he was a Republican (or a lawyer) on Ted Bundy's crimes?! Because it's [MEEP]ing ridiculous. Same should be for gaming... :p

    1. Hmmm... Now that you mention it....

Although in the case of gamers, the guy was gaming at the time. Mentally unhinged or not, we can't scrub the 'gamer' part from the story.

I just wish that the rest of us weren't lumped in with him, which is what society at large likes to do with geeky and gamer activities, as if I'm responsible for what someone a half a continent away is doing.

  2. Sigh. And is it just me or does the "has millions of active users" seem like some kind of dire warning. Those gamers could be coming after you next, run for your lives.

I see there is a Canadian Gamers Organization, I wonder if they run PSA's for the betterment of gamer image. We need a spokesperson.

    1. We just need 'normal' people --or athletes-- to start saying that they play MMOs. Or pencil and paper RPGs.

After all, I know quite a few military who play, but for some reason that gets lost in the shuffle.

  3. Why don't they ever have World of Warcraft policeman saves grandma from attack by axe murderer who watches Days of our lives? There are soany great people who play...

    1. Agreed. But because they are good people, they don't go shouting it from the rooftops that they play. And the image of the game suffers.

    1. Oh, that thought did cross my mind when I read it, but really, I've seen so many nerd ragers over the years that I couldn't really stereotype it.

  5. lol...personally I am still not over the basic fact that the media consider WoW a 'violent game', in whatever context. :boggles the mind:

    1. I'd say that WoW's content isn't even close to what qualifies as 'violent' today. But the nerd ragers, on the other hand....
