Highs in the 50s Today

Given that the past couple of weeks have been pretty eventful (see my previous posts this week), I'm kind of happy keeping the pace I have been:

As Linna gets more powerful chestpieces, her
protective area continues to shrink. Hence I put
on a blue shirt to at least make her look like a Knight
in blue and silver. The status as of November 13, 2025.

I'm finally getting some gear on Linna replaced that she's been wearing since The Deadmines. Yes, that's right. The freaking Deadmines.

Or, as I like to call it, my dice rolls SUCK.

That notwithstanding, I've been keeping up steady progress given that I've only been on for an average of an hour a night. Two levels per week ain't that bad. I kind of expect to be hitting L60 on these toons around Christmas, which is perfect. Why? because I won't have to worry about doing any gearing up or anything, because I expect the prepatch for TBC on the Anniversary realms to hit in January, and TBC Classic to arrive in February.

Not too shabby, really.

  1. We don't know the date for TBC of course, but I'm inclined to think Blizzard would like to launch pre-patch in Dec and TBC in mid-Jan to correspond with the actual anniversary of the original expansion launch of Jan 16, 2007. It is the anniversary edition, after all.

    1. It's one of those "it sounds great in theory" things, but given that their primary focus is still on Retail, I'm not sure whether they'll actually meet that date or not. Either way, I'll still be hitting 60 at the right time, so I don't have to worry about even doing the Ony attunements. I personally wouldn't mind doing them in the course of leveling and whatnot, but speed running myself through that process just to go to the Ony raid isn't what I'm interested in. After all, for a Mage there's not much in there that's good outside of the tier pieces for cosmetic purposes. (Not so sure about the other classes.)

    2. Fair enough; I believe they planned to launch TBC in mid january 2026 when they launched anniversary on the original anniversary, but didn't give us a date in case something came up - and the retail addon changes for raiding may very well be the thing that came up. I'm going to level up alts and not try to raid on any characters; quest gear in Hellfire will gear up characters nicely.

    3. Yeah, unless you've got T3 gear, a legendary weapon, or the HoJ, just about everything in Vanilla Classic will be replaced by the time you get to Zangarmarsh. I discovered that when I leveled a Draenei Shaman in 2021 and crossed over in quest greens. Sure, it was a bit rough at first, but once you get your first handful of quests done and some BC clown gear, you're going to be okay.
